Lifecasting by Twitter

Besides the accolades in the press (The New York Times calls Twitter "one of the fastest-growing phenomena on the Internet." TIME Magazine says, "Twitter is on its way to becoming the next killer app," and Newsweek noted that "Suddenly, it seems as though all the world's a-twitter."), a lot of ballyhoo seems to have been generated by Twitter.

Some people don't see the point.

Simple.

There's lifecasting by live video streaming (Justin.tv).

And there's lifecasting by text messaging (Twitter).

Same thing (idea, concept). Different platform (live video streaming <> text messaging)

That's basically it. The potential for LIVE citizen journalism is there for both apps. Somebody needs to take their cams and cell phones and Blackberries to a BIG event and start feeding LIVE updates and then everybody will see the point.

Digg?
